Welcome Back/Summer Updates:

Welcome back to the Voting Ambassador Program! As we launch the second year of our program, we want to take the time to thank two leaders who were instrumental in building our program: Jaycee Brown, our former student team leader, and Erin L. Payseur Oeth, our former advisor and program leader. We are so thankful for all of their help in building this program, and in transitioning into year two of our program.

Our 2021-2022 Voting Ambassador team consists of some new and old faces. Caroline Leonard and Katelyn Winstead form the Voting Ambassador’s connection with the Andrew Goodman Foundation (AGF). As AGF members, they focus on voting advocacy and work closely with the Voting Ambassador program. Ravneet Singh and Katie Broten are our new additions to the Voting Ambassador team. Former Voting Ambassador Libby Foley is assuming the role of Team Leader, and William Teer, Assistant Director of Community Engagement, is the new advisor for the program.

For the upcoming year, the Voting Ambassador Program will focus on continuing our non-partisan voter education and engagement efforts, as well as implementing new initiatives. We plan to continue our education efforts, by posting blogs about voting, tabling at the union to promote voting registration, maintaining a presence on social media, and through other voting initiatives. We hope you follow along and participate in our programming events throughout this school year.

The Voting Ambassador Program is also actively looking for more ambassadors! If you are interested in becoming a Voting Ambassador, fill out this google form by September 17th: https://forms.gle/zmRPSUrkkGspR8bc8

While there is no presidential election this year, it is very imperative that we continue to express the importance of voting and registering to vote. Local and state elections are vital, and we encourage you to get involved!
